Hope from those who make their money from transport, that new Budget funding will be properly spent

Hope from those who make their money from transport, that new Budget funding will be properly spent

The 2.7-billion-dollar package for roads, rail and public transport includes 940-million for repairing storm-damaged roads and 1-billion-dollars to speed up the Roads of National Significance.

That's on top of the more than 20-billion-dollars from the National Land Transport Fund, already laid out in the draft Government Policy Statement.

Transporting New Zealand interim chief executive Dom Kalasih says they welcome the investment - with the proviso it's well spent.
