    Thousands of homes and businesses in Northland are without power following this morning's heavy rain


    North Power is reporting extensive outages affecting most of the Whangarei and Kaipara Districts, including Whangarei and Dargaville.

    Top Energy's also dealing with outages across the Far North.

    NZTA is warning motorists to take care due to surface flooding.
