Heavy rain could cause issues in some parts of the country

Heavy rain could cause issues in some parts of the country

MetService has a heavy rain warning in place, for Bay of Plenty and Tasman.

Rain watches are also in place for Coromandel Peninsula and Taranaki - a severe thunderstorm watch is place for Waikato and Taranaki.

Meteorologist Surprise Mhlongo says people should be careful around waterways, as flooding is possible.

He says it's a risk because a lot of rain is falling in a short space of time. 06-23-24 1052
