A police car's crashed en route to a Hamilton callout this morning

A police car's crashed en route to a Hamilton callout this morning

Police say the driver of a vehicle of interest didn't stop when officers signalled, and then fled on foot when followed to a property.

But as they were being arrested, occupants at the property became aggressive and the officers called for backup.

The responding unit turned on lights and sirens on its way, but had a collision with a vehicle on Kahikatea Drive.

The member of the public was uninjured, and the officer had minor damage to their wrist.
