Kaipara's Mayor says a beach where mum of eight Jo Sione-Lauaki was found dead, can be very quiet

Kaipara's Mayor says a beach where mum of eight Jo Sione-Lauaki was found dead, can be very quiet

Her body was found on Friday - between Omamari and Aranga Beaches, northwest of Dargaville.

Police are asking for sightings of her black Mitsubishi Outlander in the Omamari Beach car park - and reports of anyone near the car or beach after 7pm on Thursday.

Mayor Craig Jepson says the beach is busiest at low tide.

He says when it's out and it's the weekend, it can be busy, but during the week you can sometimes have the whole beach to yourself.
