A gynaecologist failed to fully explain a woman's options - with her ectopic pregnancy

They suggested conservative management of the condition and briefly mentioned "in passing" medical treatment - which wasn't documented.
Four days later, the woman had her fallopian tube removed, concerned it could rupture.
Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner Rose Wall has found the management plan was clinically appropriate, but the clinician didn't fully explain all options.
Wall says the woman feels she might not have lost her fallopian tube if she'd been offered appropriate and timely treatment.
