Ardie Savea to captain All Blacks in Saturday's Rugby Championship test against Argentina in Wellington
Ardie Savea will captain the All Blacks on home soil for the first time in Saturday's Rugby Championship test against Argentina in Wellington
5 August 2024
The Moana Pasifika number eight predictably takes the reins from Scott Barrett - after confirmation the usual skipper's finger injury will see him sit out for the next fortnight.
Savea's captained the All Blacks eight times - five games in Australia and three at last year's World Cup in France.
Forwards coach Jason Ryan says it was an easy choice.
Codie Taylor's promoted to vice-captain with Savea moving up the ranks, while playmaker Harry Plummer's in the squad as injury cover for Blues teammate Stephen Perofeta.
