Warriors CEO reveals Shaun Johnson's team-mates were stunned by news the veteran halfback is retiring

Warriors CEO Cameron George has revealed Shaun Johnson's team-mates were stunned by the news the veteran halfback is retiring from rugby league

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The 33-year-old announced to his teammates today that this NRL season would be his last.

Johnson's decision follows an injury-riddled season.

He's only just returned from a six-week layoff to make his 265th competition appearance in Friday night's home loss to the Eels.

George told Jason Pine it took a while for the squad to come to terms with it.
