    Revelations a person dies on Wellington's waterfront every 1.7 years


    An inquest hearing continues into the death of Sandy Calkin who is believed to have drowned in the harbour after a night out with friends in 2021.

    The city council has told the coroner it plans to spend 10-million dollars on lighting and barriers, including for the waterfront, but says it will take three years to complete the work.
