Tory Whanau believes media reporting on her and her Council, hasn't been fair

CEO Barbara McKerrow has announced she won't seek to extend her term.

She's faced a lot of criticism - including from the Local Government Minister - over her move to restrict information to councillors.

McKerrow has refused interviews on her departure.

The Mayor says she doesn't blame her.

She says the media isn't "very nice", and while she's fair game as the Mayor, she believes the overall media sentiment has been overwhelmingly negative.
