Electricity bills could again head upwards

Stats NZ figures compiled by Newstalk ZB show household electricity inflation's trended down for years -- from 10.4 percent in the year to June 2004, to 3.5 percent this June.
But wholesale electricity has recently risen dramatically.
Consumer's Powerswitch price-comparison-website, Manager, Paul Fuge, says that could be passed on to consumers in coming months.
He says most power retailers have hedged for retail customers, buying when prices were lower, but the wholesale rise will eventually flow through.
