Open Justice reports the pair called Police after finding five vacuum sealed bags of cash in their Christchurch home.

Police believe it's the product of crime - because a person with gang connections is linked to the property.

AUT law expert, Warren Brookbanks, says Police have a lot to prove.

He says it's necessary to prove a link between the police suspect, a crime and the money.
