Health New Zealand says it's amended a scheme for young people in Hawke's Bay, to ensure financial sustainability

Health New Zealand says it's amended a scheme for young people in Hawke's Bay, to ensure financial sustainability

The scheme, scheduled to run until next year, used to provide free GP and nurse services to all residents aged 14 to 24.

But now young people must meet at least one-of-four criteria to be eligible for the scheme.

It includes being Maori of Pacific, having a long-term condition, holding a community services card, or living in the most deprived areas.

Health NZ says it has reset the criteria to keep the service running for the region's most vulnerable young people.
