Act Party leader David Seymour says Health New Zealand is being directed by Cabinet against delivering race-based services

Act Party leader David Seymour says Health New Zealand is being directed by Cabinet against delivering race-based services

The Associate Health Minister says the Government is stepping in - after finding out young Maori and Pasifika in Hawke's Bay could get free GP visits.

While the programme had been available to all 14-to-24-year-olds in the region, Health New Zealand says it narrowed the scope due to funding issues.

Seymour says agencies need to realise we're all human.

He says as soon as that's the focus over ethnicity, we can get stuck into real issues - like poor quality housing.
