Masterton's mayor says the recent boyracer ruckus is giving Wairarapa a bad look

Masterton's mayor says the recent boyracer ruckus is giving Wairarapa a bad look

Social media video's revealed a group of men kicking and smashing the windows of a car, before beating up the driver, near Masterton on Saturday night.

Police trying to break up the gathering had bottles, rocks and fireworks thrown at them.

Masterton mayor Gary Caffel says the whole community's fed up.

He says it's gut-wrenching for this to happen, because this is not what Masterton is all about.
