    Home prices are continuing to fall, while rental prices are back on the rise

    Home prices are continuing to fall, while rental prices are back on the rise


    That's according to new figures just released by the Real Estate Institute and Trade Me.

    The median home price is down 0.7 percent to 795-thousand dollars -- prices down 4.3 percent in Auckland, up 0.6 percent in Wellington, and up 2.9 percent in Canterbury.

    The national median weekly rent is up 2.4 percent to 635-dollars -- rents unchanged in Auckland and Wellington, and up 1.8 percent in Canterbury.
