A harrowing reminder to be careful on our roads - on Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims

A harrowing reminder to be careful on our roads - on Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims

Bike Auckland has installed 59 ghost bikes in St Patrick's Square, in the city centre.

They've been painted white to commemorate killed on our roads - the youngest only two.

Chair Karen Hormann says each of these deaths have had a ripple effect on those around the victim - but it doesn't have to be like this.

She says speed determines the harm of a crash, and safer speeds can drastically improve survival rates.

Hormann says the Government's blanket speed limit increase will create more harm.
