Financial pressure for home-owners is set to ease as inflation stabilises

Financial pressure for home-owners is set to ease as inflation stabilises

Data predicts inflation will remain close to two-percent this year, with further OCR cuts expected from this month.

On average, home-owners are spending a fifth of their net income on interest costs.

Westpac Senior Economist Satish Ranchhod says those who fixed for one-year at the start of last year can expect to benefit.

He says on an average mortgage, you could save about 300-dollars a month in most regions, and 400-hundred-dollars in Auckland.
