Una Healy's ex-husband only sees their children twice a year

The former Saturdays singer split from Ben Foden in 2018 and the ex-rugby player subsequently moved to the US, but the 43-year-old star hopes he follows through with recent discussions about moving back to the UK as it would benefit daughter Aoife, 12, and son Tadhg, 10, who live with her in Ireland

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "I get on with Ben as best I can for the sake of the children. I want them to love him and for him to be there as much as he can for them. It's unfortunate that he lives so far away.

"We don't have the 'every other weekend' set-up. He sees them at Christmas and in the summer.

"But Ben's considering moving back to the UK and I really hope he does. It would be better for everyone."

Although Una admitted her divorce from Ben - who also has Farrah, four, and 12-month-old Olympia with wife Jackie Belanoff-Smith -was "difficult", she insisted she has moved on, though she is "very happy on her own".

She said: "I have lots of friends in the same position, I'm not 'poor me'.

"It doesn't matter if you're in the public eye or not, divorce is a difficult, heartbreaking process. But you move on - there's no point in dwelling on the past."

The 43-year-old star - who recently split from retired jockey Aidan Coleman - does hope to find love again one day but she is content with life at the moment.

She said: "There's a lot of emphasis on romantic relationships, but a lot of my childhood friends, who have been through everything with me, are like my soulmates. One day, yes, I would like to find my person, but I'm very whole as I am, with my beautiful children."

Though she can currently be seen taking part in 'Celebrity Bear Hunt', Una insisted her life these days is very "normal".

She said: "My life is so... normal. I'm living in the house I grew up in. Aoife goes to my old school, and Tadhg goes to the boys' school in town. They're proper Irish kids now, though they were born in the UK. Tadhg loves his hurling. It's very cute.

"They love it here. They're really happy and it's a quiet, slow-paced life. My two don't even remember The Saturdays. I'm not 'cool', I'm just 'Mammy' here."
