A west Auckland Councillor says the community's on edge after a string of unsettling reports

A west Auckland Councillor says the community's on edge after a string of unsettling reports

A man's been charged with assault at the Sturges Road station - where a woman claims a man tried to pull her 16-year-old daughter into his vehicle.

Reports across western suburbs include claims a man attempted to grab a 10-year-old girl through a sliding door.

Waitakere Councillor Shane Henderson says they're putting eight new compliance wardens to work through the train network.

He hopes it'll make people feel safer, knowing help's on the way.
