Each of us is forecast - on average - to be nearly 13-thousand dollars out of pocket, thanks to the current recession

The figures come from comparing Treasury's last and most positive prediction of the post-Covid recovery, with more recent forecasts.

Infometrics chief executive Brad Olsen says since 2023, GDP has been 16.4 billion dollars lower than it was projected to be.

He says revisions to growth over the next two years, have also knocked 28.3 billion dollars off predictions - shaving more than 7 thousand dollars per person from the outlook to 2027.
