Lessons to help Pacific people in the event of another pandemic

Lessons to help Pacific people in the event of another pandemic

New research shows the Covid-19 response failed to adequately target their needs.

They were twice as likely to be hospitalised with the virus compared to non-Pacific and non-Maori people.

Auckland University Professor of Public Health Collin Tukuitonga says this research will help cater to the Pacific community if another pandemic occurs.

He says home isolations were good in theory but with overcrowded housing it's not practical for many Pacific families.
