Northland Regional Council has diverted a bus route in Whangarei after issues with rock throwing

Northland Regional Council has diverted a bus route in Whangarei after issues with rock throwing

The council says windows were smashed on buses on the CityLink Route Four as they drove down Matai Street on Saturday and Monday.

Transport Manager, Chris Powell, says passengers were on board - but no injuries reported.

But he says after more incidents, the Council is avoiding Matai Street, looping around William Jones Drive.

The Council says some passengers will be directly affected, but feels it has no choice until the matter is resolved.
