Liam Lawson's struggles at the Australian Grand Prix have gone from bad to worse

The Kiwi driver's involvement in the final practice session was wiped out by issues with his Red Bull car.

Lawson was limited to just two laps in today's final session in Melbourne, with his team stating the issues revolved around the power unit, leaving mechanics with a tight turnaround to fix them in the hope of being ready for qualifying.

Teammate and world champion Max Verstappen finished with the third-fastest time, the Dutchman fractionally behind McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Mercedes' George Russell ... the only drivers to break the one minute 16 second mark across the whole weekend so far.

Qualifying starts at 6pm (NZT).
