The Coroner has cited fatigue as a key factor in a crash, which killed four people in the South Island's Lake Pukaki, last Easter weekend

The Coroner has cited fatigue as a key factor in a crash, which killed four people in the South Island's Lake Pukaki, last Easter weekend

Open Justice reports the crash between two cars and a motorcycle, happened after a car crossed the centre line.

A coroner's report found that the man had had three hours of sleep the previous night, and had been getting neck massages from a passenger to stay awake.

He said none of the vehicles had mechanical faults, the road was dry and the weather was fine.

The report also praised the efforts of those who stopped, to help the crash victims.
