PAK'nSAVE has scored best for a second month - in international supermarket price comparisons

PAK'nSAVE has scored best for a second month - in international supermarket price comparisons

Figures compiled by Foodstuffs North Island, show the supermarket chain delivered the lowest overall basket price.

It came in nearly 10-dollars cheaper than Woolworths, and again beat major Australian retailers, like Aldi, on value.

Foodstuffs North Island CEO Chris Quin says this challenges the idea groceries are unreasonably expensive.

He says there's a lot of noise right now about prices, but this shows New Zealand's competitive by global standards.
