    Costs are rising for Kiwi businesses and farms


    Stats NZ says comparing the three months to March, to the December quarter, farm expenses rose 0.4 percent and capital goods 0.5 percent.

    Prices paid by businesses rose 2.9 percent over the period -- and salaries and wage rates rose the same amount.

    Year-on-year, farmers are paying 0.2 percent higher prices.
