Tom Felton is happy he's had Daniel Radcliffe to "hold [his] hand" as he prepares for his Broadway debut

The 37-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Draco Malfoy for a stint in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and while he's never appeared on the New York stage before, his Harry Potter co-star - who played the titular boy wizard in all eight films - has starred in five productions so has been only too happy to offer help and guidance to his friend

Speaking on the red carpet at the Tony Awards in New York on Sunday (08.06.25), Tom told People magazine: "My old school chum, Potter, Radcliffe, has done quite a bit of Broadway, so he's holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn.

"But from what I gather, it's an amazing community of people. The fans are really, really gracious and excited. So I'm just thrilled to be part of it."

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years after the end of the main series, and Tom is "excited" to explore new sides to Draco now he is an adult.

He said: "I just never saw myself having blonde hair again and reprising that role. Now as a dad, Draco has a son. So yes, it is an old character, but in a very new set of circumstances. I'm excited to explore it."

The actor admitted he is a "huge fan of the show" and has seen the play "a dozen times, mainly in England and a few times now on Broadway."

Tom - who will be performing in the show from November 11, 2025, until March 22, 2026 - recently admitted he "immediately cried" when he put on his character's distinctive blonde wig for the first time.

He told Today.com: "It's very, very easy to get emotional.

"When they put my blonde wig on for the theatre production, I just immediately cried. It was just sort of like a blast from the past."

Presale tickets for the show featuring Tom will be available on June 10 at 11am EST. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on June 12 at 11am EST.
