A fire which ripped through a central Auckland supermarket has now been extinguished

A fire which ripped through a central Auckland supermarket has now been extinguished

Fire crews spent about 10 hours battling the blaze at New World Victoria park, which began in the mezzanine and roof space.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand say crews will reduce from nine to five overnight to deal with any hotspots.

The building is expected to be handed back to owners in the morning.
