Kelsey Parker thinks her late husband Tom "picked" her new partner

The 34-year-old star - who had children Aurelia, five, and Bodhi, four, with The Wanted singer Tom before his death aged 33 from a brain tumour in 2022 - has since found love with tree surgeon Will Lindsay, with the couple expecting their first baby together

She told the UK edition Closer magazine: "I do feel like Tom actually picked him. I think he was like, 'He's great. He's perfect for her.' "

Kelsey - who admitted her "kids have kept her going" since her husband's death - has reflected on people criticising and claiming she's moved on too fast.

She said: "Will's been amazing. He embraces Tom. But the bad comments stick with you.

"I think coming to our life must have been a lot, but again, I think Will was the perfect person because he doesn't overthink it.

"People will ask, 'Is Will jealous of Tom?' He doesn't feel that way about Tom, which I was always worried about, because my love for Tom is obviously like beyond."

Meanwhile, Will lost his own father when he was just 21 years old, so he has empathy for what the family are going through.

Kelsey added: "He understands what [the children are] going through. He just gets it."

However, she recently admitted she is expecting her children to struggle when they're new baby sibling calls Will "dad".

She told new! magazine: "Something that's making me emotional is that the baby's going to call Will 'dad' one day and I think that's going to be hard for them to navigate.

"They don't call Will 'dad' but I don't know how that's going to change when the baby's her. It might be strange for them.

"I have spoken to them about it and they kind of understand, but talking about it and it happening are very different things."

Despite those concerns, Kelsey and Tom's kids still have a "close" bond with Will.

She said: "They are so close with Will. He went away for the weekend and they rang him every day and were like, 'When are you coming back?'

"I think it's because they've lost someone, too, as other children probably wouldn't be like that with a new father figure in their life."
