Jonathan Bailey would find it "hard to say no" if he was asked to be the next James Bond

The Bridgerton actor, 37, is one of several stars to have been linked to the part of the suave spy, after Daniel Craig previously bowed out of the role in 2021 movie No Time To Die, but Jonathan is "not sure" if he would say yes to the massive role

When asked on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on Radio 2 if he would "want" to be Bond, he said: "I don't ... I am not sure ... I don't know.

"I really, honestly, I mean ... it would be hard to say no."

However, the Wicked and Wicked: For Good actor - who plays Prince Fiyero Tigelaar in the two-part movie musical - believes the next Bond movie will be "exciting" whoever is in the lead role.

He added: "But I know that it's going to be exciting whatever they do."

Jonathan also admitted he was "flattered" to be asked whether he would be up for appearing as 007.

After radio host Scott Mills asked Jonathan about the part, he replied: "I mean, that's an amazingly flattering ask.

"I could imagine you as James Bond, Scott."

Scott replied: "Well swerved, because that's not true."

If Jonathan does become the new James Bond, then it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see the spy on horseback in the next movie.

That's after the star previously formed such a bond with a horse called Jack, who he rode in Bridgerton, he requested the equine was cast in Wicked.

In a clip posted to Wicked's TikTok account, Jonathan said in a voiceover as he was shown with Jack: "I went around to see [director] Jon M. Chu before we started filming, and I said to him, I said, 'I think I know who the horse is.'

"And he was like, 'What do you mean?'

"It's Jack, the horse that I'd ridden in Bridgerton, who I had an amazing relationship with.

"People say, don't work with kids and animals. But if it's Jack, I'd say, 'Take the job. He's a legend.' "
