An man's been arrested after an early morning crime spree in Auckland's Pakuranga

An man's been arrested after an early morning crime spree in Auckland's Pakuranga

Police allege the man broke into a Udys Road property around 5 this morning, prompting several separate reports from neighbouring homes.

Some said the man threatened residents with a knife and kicked down front doors.

Police allege the 44-year-old then stole one car from a Grammar School Road property, before crashing it and stealing another from a Reeves Road home.

They say he crashed again on Ti Rakau Drive and Tiraumea Drive, where they made an arrest after a chase on foot.

Inspector Danny Meade says the spree took place within around 40 minutes.

The arrested will appear in court at a later date.
