South Island ski fields are continuing to struggle with limited snow

South Island ski fields are continuing to struggle with limited snow

Some club fields across Canterbury, including Broken River and Mt Cheeseman, are yet to open this winter.

Craigieburn's hoping for a season opening on Sunday - with a touch of snow forecast tonight.

The bigger South Island fields like Mt Hutt, Cardrona and the Remarkables have been operating under the support of snow making machines.
