Otago have locked up the Ranfurly Shield for the summer, seeing off winless North Harbour 41-26 in Dunedin

The result lifts Otago to the top of the NPC table above Canterbury ... and confirms Harbour will finish with the wooden spoon.

In today's other game, Taranaki have put another big dent in Wellington's title defence, the Bulls beating the Lions 39-20 in New Plymouth ... to climb up to third.

In the women's Farah Palmer Cup ... Waikato have ended the Auckland Storm's season, edging their guests 36-29 in Hamilton to book their spot in the Premiership final.

Waikato will play Canterbury for the FPC title, after the Cantabs beat the Manawatu Cyclones 39-22 in Christchurch in the other semi.
