Paris Hilton's dogs prepared her to be a mom to her children

The 44-year-old media personality had many pooches - the first being Tinkerbell, a teacup Chihuahua that starred alongside her on The Simple Life reality TV series, and who died in 2015 at the age of 14 - before she and her husband, 44-year-old entrepreneur Carter Reum, welcomed their son Phoenix, two, and their daughter London, 23 months, into the world

Paris - who currently has five dogs, the latest being a puppy called Princess Hilton - told People: "My dogs are my first babies before I had kids.

"They have brought so much happiness into my life, and they bring so much love to your life.

"Tinkerbell was my first love, and just my best friend, my sister, my sidekick, my family - my everything.

"Every day, you just feel so much happiness, just, like, having them by your side."

The businesswoman also said that Phoenix and London are "best friends".

Paris added: "They're growing up so fast. They're both so tall and so smart.

"They are best friends. It's like they're twins. It's just the cutest thing. It's like a built-in best friend for life."

Elsewhere, the Stars are Blind singer admitted that she has learnt to "slow down" and enjoy every moment of life since becoming a mom to her two children.

Paris explained in the October 13 issue of Britain's HELLO! magazine: "It has been the most magical experience of my life.

"I've learnt to be more present, to slow down and to enjoy every little moment.

"My life feels so full now, and I'm beyond grateful every single day.

"It's honestly the most beautiful and meaningful thing I've ever experienced."

Paris and Carter were friends before they discovered a spark between them at a Thanksgiving event in 2019.

He proposed to the blonde beauty on a private island in 2021, and they got married at the former estate of Paris' late grandfather, Barron Hilton, later that year.

And she feels lucky to have her "rock" Carter in her life.

Paris - who does a lot of charity work, supports survivors of abuse, and is an LGBT rights activist - gushed: "He's so kind and genuine and always makes me feel safe and loved.

"I admire how grounded he is; he brings this calmness into my life that I never knew I needed.

"I think what he loves most about me is my resilience, my creativity and the way I use my platform to empower others.

    "We balance each other perfectly."
