    High jumper Hamish Kerr has been named as one of five finalists for World Athletics' field athlete of the year


    The 29 year old won a maiden outdoor world title in Tokyo, as well as gold in the Diamond League finale at Zurich.

    Kerr faces competition in the form of pole vaulting world record holder Mondo Duplantis, long jumper Mattia Furlani , hammer thrower Ethan Katzberg and triple jumper Pedro Pichardo .
