    New Zealand are effectively out of semi-final contention with a game to play at the women's cricket World Cup after losing to India by 53 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis Method in Mumbai


    The White Ferns finished on 271 for eight, chasing a rain-affected 325 from 44 overs.

    New Zealand captain Sophie Devine sent the hosts in, only for them to pile on 340 for three, including a 212-run better-than-run-a-ball opening stand.



    The White Ferns had two matches washed out.



    Spring rain has thwarted the third of six scheduled Black Caps T20 internationals this month, this time against England in Auckland.

    The visitors secured the three-match series 1-nil.
