The man hunt continues for the person responsible for a shooting in the Christchurch suburb of Wainoni

The man hunt continues for the person responsible for a shooting in the Christchurch suburb of Wainoni

A woman's in a serious condition after she was found with what appears to be a gunshot wound at a property on Shortland Street just before nine PM on Monday night.

Detective Inspector Craig Farrant says initial enquiries suggest the incident was gang-related.

He says they're following good lines of inquiry as they search for the offender - who fled the scene in a vehicle.

Our newsroom understands the woman may not have been the intended target - but was mistakenly hit in the drive-by shooting
