The third man charged with the murder of 29-year-old father Tristan Oakes has appeared in Tauranga District Court

12 November 2025

Oakes was found critically injured from a gunshot wound at his Te Puke home on October 25 and died in Tauranga Hospital the next day.

24-year-old Te Waiari Kapereira Mana Watson appeared in court yesterday alongside his two murder co-accused.

39-year-old Kanan Clarke and 40-year-old Joseph Ernest Yorke are facing other charges including burglary and kidnapping.

All three have been remanded and are due to reappear at the High Court in Tauranga next week.
