Two Customs searches uncovered 47 vacuum-sealed packages with nearly 50 kilos of meth in the luggage of four US travellers.

And a French national's suitcase contained a book entitled 'Apologise, Forgive, Forget', that turned out to be a wooden box holding about two kilos of meth.

Auckland Airport Customs Manager, Paul Williams, says it's been a record year for drug seizures - with about 670 kilograms of meth and cocaine confiscated.
