Gloria Estefan says someone should create hologram bullfighting shows

The 68-year-old singer thinks the idea would be more appealing to people because no animal would be killed.

Appearing on the latest episode of 49-year-old comedian Alan Carr's Life's a Beach podcast, the Conga hitmaker said: "I have an amazing idea for a hologram show.

"And my grandson makes fun of me for it because when we were on the two-week tour of Spain that we did in the summer, which was incredible, there are all these bullfighting places that are going by the wayside because nobody wants to see the death of an animal. I certainly don't want to.

"But I think they should create bullfights that are holograms because then you could see the - and they're not real bulls - AI bulls.

    "I think that's a great idea."

Gloria quipped: "And don't steal it because if somebody does it, get ready, I'm coming after you. I'm copyrighting that idea."

The four-time Grammy Award winner got onto the topic of hologram shows as her 72-year-old husband Emilio Estefan wants to take Gloria to see ABBA Voyage whilst they are in London.

ABBA Voyage is a virtual concert by the pop group - formed of Agnetha Faltskog, 75, Bjorn Ulvaeus, 80, Benny Andersson, 78, and 79 year old Anni-Frid Lyngstad - depicting them as they were in 1979, and using their original recorded vocals accompanied by a 10-piece live instrumental band on stage.

Gloria said: "Emilio wants to take me to see that ABBA thing. We're looking forward to that."

The Dr. Beat singer joked that Emilio wants Gloria to do a hologram show in the future.

She quipped: "Emilio, I think, wants to send me out on tour as a hologram. That's why he's making me see it.

"I think that if I died, he might stuff me and send me on tour."

    Alan joked: "The taxidermy tour."

Gloria continued: "But I'm really curious to see it. I've heard wonderful things about it."

And earlier in the podcast episode, the Father of the Bride actress revealed she ate bulls' balls in Mexico.

Gloria shared: "In Mexico, they call them criadillas. I didn't know what they were because it sounded delicious. It doesn't have a meaning. It turns out they were bulls' balls."

A curious Alan asked: "What do they taste like?"

Gloria described: "They tasted like very soft liver. I don't know exactly how to describe it."

Alan wondered: "And did you know they were balls as you were eating them, or did you halfway through, you were like, 'Wait a minute. These are balls?'"

Gloria replied: "I told you it was criadillas. So I didn't know. So [the band] did it as a joke. The whole band was there, and they're all standing there going, 'East those balls, eat those balls.'

"And the pressure was horrendous. I was pressured into it. It was not fair. But I did it. You know, try everything once. That's what they say."
