A quick turnaround for the newly announced changes to vehicle imports - to be law by week's end

A quick turnaround for the newly announced changes to vehicle imports - to be law by week's end

The Clean Vehicle Standard gave importers credits for meeting carbon targets - and charged them if they missed.

But the Transport Minister's confirmed they'll slash charges, launch a review - and make credits eligible until 2029.

Chris Bishop says they're urgently protecting consumers, following market changes.

He says they will lodge an amendment paper with these changes to the Land Transport Clean Vehicle Amendment Bill, which is going through the house this week.
