    Christchurch's Mayor is set on getting the National Mount Erebus Memorial built as soon as possible


    Cracroft Reserve has been chosen as the site, after the Ministry for Culture and Heritage spent seven years looking at 50 sites in Auckland.

    It will honour the 257 people who died when an Air New Zealand flight crashed into Antarctica's Mount Erebus - 46 years ago today.

    Mayor Phil Mauger has pledged continued support - saying the council will ensure there are no hold ups.
