Some high temperatures are forecast around the country this weekend

MetService says Auckland's likely to see a high of 25 today but the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne are expected to see temperatures in the low 30s - with some heat alerts in place.

Meanwhile parts of the South Island are set to see rain particularly on the West Coast.

Heavy rain is expected in Fiordland from 11pm tonight until 2am on Monday.

A heavy rain watch will also kick in for the ranges of Westland from tomorrow evening.
