South Africa Rugby have taken the extraordinary step of re-signing Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus through until the end of the 2031 Rugby World Cup

Erasmus was already under contract through until the end of the 2027 tournament, but SA Rugby have moved to keep the double-World Cup champion on a four-year extension.

It's unclear whether the likes of kiwi attack coach Tony Brown will also be retained that long, with a statement from SA Rugby saying other announcements will be made in due course.
