An academic is calling for a full inquiry into the Jevon McSkimming scandal after revelations which emerged over the weekend

An academic is calling for a full inquiry into the Jevon McSkimming scandal after revelations which emerged over the weekend

Andrew Coster stepped down as head of the Social Investment Agency on Wednesday after a critical IPCA report into police handled allegations against McSkimming.

In an interview with TVNZ's Q&A, Coster claims he'd briefed Chris Hipkins on details of the case in 2022 - and then briefed Mark Mitchell in 2024.

Both have denied the allegations and say they would have taken action if they had known.

Political commentator Bryce Edwards says another probe would be useful, as he doesn't believe the IPCA report answers all of the questions.
