Gwyneth Paltrow has branded her husband Brad Falchuk a "Grinch" because he "hates" Christmas

The 53-year-old Iron Man star - who wed the TV producer in 2018 - has revealed her partner doesn't like festive music or decorations and he can't stand a traditional turkey dinner with the actress comparing him to the Dr. Seuss character who famously stole Christmas.

During an appearance on her Goop podcast, she explained: "My husband is a little bit of a Grinch so he's the opposite [of me].

"But I love the decorations, I love the Frank Sinatra Christmas album. I really get into the holiday spirit.

"Brad is the worst," she also said. "He hates Christmas music, he hates Christmas decorations, he hates roast turkey, like, he hates the traditional dinner."

When asked if there is anything Brad looks forward to over the holiday season, Gwyneth replied: "No! Well, he looks forward to it being over."

The actress - who is mother to Apple, 21, and Moses, 19, with her ex-husband Chris Martin - added: "I feel very alone in my house in my love for Christmas, although all the kids love it, so they're on my side. I love Christmas."

Gwyneth went on to reveal she always cooks a "traditional menu" and uses a Martha Stewart recipe for her turkey.

She said: "I love decorating, and we have a traditional menu that we do every year. I always make Martha Stewart's recipe for a perfect roast turkey, and we have our stuffing recipe and our sweet potatoes and all the things.

"We never really deviate that much. One year we added fried chicken to the mix, which I thought was weird, but Brad really was into the idea. But this year, I think we're going traditional."

Gwyneth revealed her family spent last Christmas in Italy but they are going to stay in California this time because the actress prefers being at home for the holidays.

She said: "Being home for the holidays is so important to me. I don't want to get on a plane and schlep and be in a weird bed. I just want to be home."

When asked to describe her ideal Christmas Day, she said; "Pyjamas until the afternoon, a nice walk, dinner in real clothes ... Apple loves when we dress up for the holidays, so that's become a tradition."

Gwyneth also revealed the family celebrate Boxing Day on December 26 - taking on a tradition from living in the UK with her British ex-husband.

She explained: "It's just another day of glorious gluttony and total relaxation and board games."
