Gwyneth Paltrow embarrassed after mistaking Timothée Chalamet's make-up for acne scars

Gwyneth Paltrow thought Timothée Chalamet's realistic on-screen acne scars were real and offered skincare advice, only to find out they were expertly applied makeup for his role in Marty Supreme.

Gwyneth Paltrow stars alongside Timothée Chalamet in the new sports drama Marty Supreme, and revealed on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast that she was left mortified after mistaking the actor's character makeup for actual acne scars. "Timothy has pockmarks in the film," she said. "In real life, he has beautiful skin, and I made a comment about microneedling. He goes: 'This is make-up.' I was like: 'Oh, s***.'" Paltrow, 53, also praised the film's 1950s-inspired wardrobe, saying she hadn't felt that excited during fittings in a long time. She raved about a yellow organza dress crafted by costume designer Miyako Bellizzi, calling it "heaven on earth." Though she preferred a different dress for one key scene, director Josh Safdie insisted on using a bold red gown. "Josh was like: 'No, it has to be that. It has to be red.'"
