Otago Police say a man accused of lighting a Mosgiel shed fire was found with multiple unlicensed firearms and 150 rounds of ammunition

Officers were called to the Dukes Road North blaze on Saturday afternoon, later confirming it as arson.

The ODT reports they found a 75-year-old man, who lived in a campervan on the property, watching the fire.

A search found two hunting rifles, a break-action pistol and ammunition in his car - despite him not having a firearms license.

He's due in court on Thursday.
