Praise for a People-First approach - that also helps farmers

Praise for a People-First approach - that also helps farmers

The Government's unveiled Resource Management Act reforms, with two Bills covering the environment and planning.

They limit councils' regulating powers, and could almost halve the required consents, including for farms.

Federated Farmers', Mark Hooper, says this looks after farmers better - and will make them more likely to spend on environmental infrastructure.

He says the current regulatory system is disincentivising and imposes burdens.
